Thanks to a 4-0 win over Highfield on Tuesday afternoon, Timberley moved to within a point of leaders, and reigning champions, Lyndon Green. Both sides have now played the same amount of games and though a point adrift, Timberley have significant goal difference advantage.
So, the title is set for a monumental showdown next Tuesday at Colebourne. However, plucky Colebourne could have a decisive say in matters as they have to play both sides before the final clash of the title protagonists.
Over at Yardley, Mapledene severely dented Lea Forest's hopes of a top four finish as they inflicted a 2-0 defeat on the Foresters. The victory is the fifth straight win for The Maples and has catapulted the Sheldon side to 7th. It is a great way to bow out for Maples' boss Evans, who heads for pastures new - Parkfield - in September.
In the night's other game Yardley held Lea Forest, 2-2, further damaging LF's top 4 aspirations.
