A perfect nine points from three games at Power League, Yardley on Wednesday evening, was enough for Short Heath to leap-frog over Harper Bell and take the girls' league Group A title.
The Heathens began the evening six points off leaders Harper Bell, but 3-0 wins over E-ACT Nechells and Hillstone allied with a 4-0 victory against Brookfields, secured the Group A crown in the side's first season in the league.
Heath's 3-0 defeat of Hillstone was costly for the latter, as at the end of proceedings they found themselves pipped to a play-off spot by Erdington Hall - courtesy of Hall's better goal difference. Hall did help themselves however with a shock 4-3 win over Rosary in what was a right old ding-dong of a game.
Rosary made sure of third spot in the table and a play-off berth, as they dispatched Blakenhale, 6-1.
Blakenhale's own play-offs ambitions disappeared as they were held 2-2 by a vastly improved E-ACT Nechells side; E-ACT were enthusiastically coached throughout the game and raced into a two-goal lead but 'hale pegged them back to snatch a point. The defeat to Rosary then capped off a disappointing evening for Blakenhale.
The line-up for the play-offs evening at Power League, Yardley, on Wednesday 28th March, is as follows -
Group A - Short Heath, Lea Forest, Erdington Hall and Paget.
Group B - Harper Bell, Timberley, Rosary and Parkfield.
Top two in each group through to semi-finals.
All to play for on the penultimate day of this term.
