Oval Shine in Trophy Qualifiers!

By Joe Perkins

The Oval ease to Trophy finals; Paget, 'mead and Forest also through.

Castle Vale Stadium on Thursday night saw the Premier division teams compete in their side of the ESPSFA Trophy qualifying with eight sides vying for the four berths on offer.
In Group A, The Oval were the stand out side as they won all three of their games, scoring seventeen goals in the process. Runners-up in that group were Lea Forest but only by courtesy of a +5 better goal difference than Heathlands.
Group B was tight across the board with Paget, Brownmead and Rosary all winning games but it was the former two who just edged it to progress to the finals.
So the finals line-up is complete now and the winners of the 2019 ESPSFA Trophy will come from one of eight schools: Hillstone, Short Heath, St Bernadette's, The Oval, Paget, Brownmead, Lea Forest or, current holders, Abbey. It's all to play for at the CVS next Wednesday.

Where next?

Trophy Still Up For Grabs! Hillstone and Oval to replay final; Holders Abbey fall at semi hurdle; Paget felled in last four.
Stone Cruise to Trophy Finals! Abbey, Heath and Bernie's also qualify.
