Heath all but Secure Play-off spot!

By Joe Perkins

Heath on verge; Paget on target.

Short Heath virtually cemented a play-off berth and Paget remained on course for one of the three spots on offer as La Liga games returned on Tuesday for the end of season run in.
Short Heath made the trip to Shard End for what they knew would be a tricky encounter with Hillstone who themselves still harboured hopes of the play-offs. Heath started brightly and took an early lead only to be pegged back when Hillstone equalised from a corner. However, Heath were not to be denied and nicked a winner from a free-kick before holding on for a precious three points.
Across at Holly Lane, Paget were looking to bounce back after their defeat to Short Heath last month and they did so in emphatic style brushing aside Parkfield 8-0.
So Short Heath now sit atop the table three points clear of Mapledene with both having played six games - the two meet next Tuesday in what should be a titanic tussle and a Short Heath win will almost certainly seal the title, a point though will secure a play-off spot for them. Paget's three pints sees them remain in third place and are now only three points away from Mapledene and have a game in hand.
