Played 12 won 12 - that's the record that means Timberley take the inaugural ESPSFA Girls League title.
Two 1-0 wins at Power League on Wednesday afternoon, over Rosary and Abbey, meant not only was the league secured but that the Shard-enders had a completed the season with a 100% record. And, not only that, The Timbers girls netted an astonishing 51 goals! Their defence was mightily miserly as they conceded a grand total of 2 goals throughout the campaign. Full credit to Ms Gosling and her girls in black and red!
By virtue of a 12 point haul on the same evening, Highfield managed to overhaul Lea Forest and pipped the Kitts Green outfit into second-place; a great achievement for the girls from the 'Rock' who were immensely proud of their silver, runners-up medals.
So there ends are very successful first season of Girls League football in the ESPSFA and many, many thanks to all the participating schools who gave their girls a chance to represent their schools in a competitive environment and with pride and passion. Well done to all and no doubt more young ladies will join in the fun next season!
