Rockin' Rosary Roll On!

By Joe Perkins

Light Blues extend league lead. Abbey held in Brownmead stalemate.

Rosary emerged from two tough games at Brownmead on Thursday evening with six points in the bag and their title aspirations strengthened. The Light Blues scored a 3-1 win over a battling Brownmead side before winning a tense, tight, tussle with Abbey, by a solitary goal to nil. Both goalkeepers excelled in an end-to-end game, and only a far post header, midway through the first half, separated the two title contenders. Rosary's lead at the top is now 9 points over Lyndon Green in second place, though The Greens have 3 games in hand. Abbey too are 3 games behind the pace-setters, but lie a further 3 points back and remain in 3rd place. Abbey were held to a goal-less draw by hosts, Brownmead, in the evenings opening stanza, with defences coming out on top.
