Paget Power On!

By Joe Perkins

Ten-goal Paget maintain lead at top; Short Heath stay hot on P’s heels; Dene stumble on.

Paget continued their relentless pursuit of the La Liga title at Castle Vale Stadium on Tuesday night taking another maximum six points and making it six wins out of six since the turn of the year.

The P's defeated St Bernadette's 5-0 but more surprisingly downed play-off chasing Mapledene, 5-1.
Short Heath however are keeping close order and remain just three points behind Paget. Heath narrowly fended off a determined St Barnabas side, 2-1 before a more comfortable 3-0 win over Colebourne.

Both Mapledene and St Barnabas recovered from initial defeats to record victories against St Bernadette's (3-0) and Colebourne (4-1) respectively - both remain in the play-off hunt.

So going into half-term, Paget lead the way, three points clear of Short Heath and it now looks a two-horse race for the La Liga crown. The race for the third and final play-off place though will be equally as intense, with Mapledene, Lyndon Green, St Barnabas and even sixth-placed Hillstone all vying for that coveted spot.

Where next?

Double Dome Delight for Paget! P's go top after six-point haul; Heath up to second; LG suffer defeats; Dene stay in touch.
