It’s Tip-Top Timberley!

Thursday evening saw Timberley rise to the Premier Division summit after they took four points from their two games at their Bradley Road home.

Timberley commenced the trio of games against a Guardian Angels side yet to fire on all cylinders but in a keenly contested Shard End derby, neither could find their way to goal and the two sides had to settle for a point each.

The Angels did however find the net against Corpus Christi. Corpus battled away and deserved the goal they scored but were powerless in preventing Angels at the other end and the yellow and blacks eased to a 4-1 win.

Corpus then had to pick themselves up but came up against a Timberley side keen to go top and it was the latter who came up trumps as they saw off their visitors from Stechford, 4-0.

Timberley sit atop the table then, three points clear of Guardian Angels and four ahead of Highfield in third and Lea Forest in fifth - ‘field and Forest though, have two games in hand. Corpus Christi are still searching for their first points of the season but will hope for better days ahead.
