Lea Forest Academy on Tuesday evening saw Corporate Clothing league leaders St Bernadette's stretch their lead over Forest at the top of the table to 2 points.
In their first game at The Forest, Bernies were held to a goal-less draw by a battling Parkfield side but, in their second fixture, they were ruthless in a 3-0 win over the hosts.
The Foresters however did manage to grab 3 points for themselves by defeating Parkfield 2-0 . In the process, they hang on to the coat-tails of the leaders and have a game in hand.
On the same day over at Spring Lane, reigning champions Timberley made a statement of intent by crushing Erdington Hall 11-0 then, in a much tighter encounter, defeating Saints Peter and Paul's 2-0. Timbers are up to 3rd in the league, 4 points behind Bernie's but with 2 games in hand. In the evening's other game, the Erdington derby ended in a 7-1 triumph for Peter and Paul's.
