Timberley strode to the top of the Premier Division on Thursday night following home wins over Highfield and Corpus Christi. The Timbers opened up against Highfield who, like last week at Castle Vale, put in a spirited display but the Alum Rock side found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 score-line. Timberley then backed that result up with a fine 3-0 win over a previously unbeaten Corpus Christi. Corpus had maintained their unbeaten start to the season prior to that Timberley defeat as they narrowly edged out Highfield, 1-0. Timberley, then, go top ahead of Corpus Christi on goal difference whilst Highfield will be frustrated at three defeats from their three games despite performing valiantly.
