Timbers Girls Fire Title Blast!

By Joe Perkins

Twenty-goal Timberley hit the front.

Three games, three wins and twenty goals - Timberley's girls smashed their way to the top of the fit4schools Girls league and sent out a message to the rest of the chasing pack: Catch Us If You Can!
Timbers began with a 7-2 win over a battling Audley side, who even took the lead inside 30 seconds, but the girls from Shard End were not to be denied. Next up Timberley defeated Parkfield 6-0 and credit to their girls, who, like Audley's fought hard throughout. In their final game, Timbers had their game against Alston wrapped up at half-time as they led 5-0. Alston though refused to buckle and were much improved after the break, limiting Timbers to just the two goals to complete a 7-0 victory.
The evening's other games were much closer affairs with Parkfield edging out Alston, 6-5 and Alston nudging past Audley, 5-4.
Goals aplenty then on another exciting evening in the fit4schools Girls League.
