SSPP Grab Play-off Berth!

SSPP secured runners-up spot in the Premier division on Thursday evening after winning both of their games at Holly Lane. The black'n'whites opened up against with the derby vs old rivals, Abbey and in a pulsating, end-to-end game, they emerged 3-2 victors meaning a win in their next fixture, vs Corpus Christi, would mean they would finish runners-up. And SSPP were not to be denied and a slick performance saw them cruise to a 7-1 victory.
That SSPP win over Abbey put an end to Court Farm's outside chance of a top three finish and they ended their campaign with a topsy-turvy evening at Castle Vale Stadium. Farm were firstly beaten 2-1 by Highfield before defeating Elms Farm, 4-1.
Across at the Heathway, Heathlands were entertaining Rosary and Featherstone and the home side firstly enjoyed a 5-0 win against a hapless Rosary side. Heathlands' star midfielder scored a hat-trick of free-kicks, two from just inside his own half! Rosary clearly didn't learn their lesson by continually conceding free-kicks. However, in their next game, Heathlands tired and Featherstone took advantage by nudging a 2-1 win.
There was one game in La Liga on Thursday which saw Hillstone ease past Colebourne, 11-0. The win keeps alive 'stone's play-off hopes and for that flame to remain lit, they must defeat Paget on Monday afternoon - a point though will be enough for the P's to prevail.
There should have been a crucial game at the top of the table at Mapledene this evening but the 'dene conceded the points to Short Heath.
The play-off places are all done and dusted in the Premier division and all eyes now switch to Hillstone on Monday for that huge Paget clash.
