Goals Galore for Greens!

15-goal LG close in on Rosary. Brownmead win again. Maples double. Coles down Oval.

Thursday evening saw Lyndon Green make a huge statement in the Baxi Boilers division with a resounding 15-0 win against a very much under-strength Blakesley Hall. It appeared all too easy for the Wensley Roaders and they are now within touching distance of long-time leaders Rosary, lying just 3 points away. The Greens also have a game in hand, and - courtesy of Thursday's rampage - a far superior goal difference.
Whilst LG were making merry, over at Brownmead, the home side continued their recent upsurge in form by defeating Highfield. 'Mead's solitary goal to nil victory moves them up from seventh place to fifth, and are now unbeaten in their last 3 games.
And finally on Thursday, The Mapledene Arena saw The Maples Machine rumble on as they recorded back-to-back victories against Coleburne 2-0 and The Oval 3-0. 'Dene are now fourth and just 3 points adrift of Abbey in third, going into the Sheldon side's final game against Highfield in May. A miserable evening for The Oval was compounded when they were beaten 3-1 by basement-side Coleburne. The Oval created a glut of chances but were put to the sword by some clinical Coles finishing.
