Play-offs Ready for Take off!

By Joe Perkins

Play-off eliminators take centre stage; Angels, Heath, Timbers and Green aim for CVS finals.

And so we reach play-off season and we begin with the play-off eliminators this week which will see two out of Guardian Angels, Short Heath, Timberley and Lyndon Green join La Liga champions, Abbey and Premier winners, Mapledene in the season-defining finals day at Castle Vale Stadium on Wednesday 20th May.

Tuesday afternoon sees La Liga runners-up, Lyndon Green travel across to Shard End to take on Timberley at the Timbers' home base. Green were pipped to the La Liga title by just one point and though they will be confident they can progress, Timberley will be equally optimistic following their dramatic 3-2 win over Guardian Angels which saw them grab third place in the Premier division.

And then on Wednesday, Guardian Angels, who have enjoyed a terrific first season in the ESPSFA, will take on a Short Heath side who, though just made the final play-off spot in La Liga thanks to St Barnabas slipping in their last two matches, the Heathens know how to get it done at this stage of the season. Heath though, have had to field a number of Year 5 players recently and will have to rely on them again if they are to reach yet another finals day.

Good luck to all four teams!
