Angels Flying To Play-offs!

By Joe Perkins

Guardian Angels see off SSPP to tighten play-off grasp; SSPP recover to beat Highfield.

Thursday afternoon at Holly Lane saw Guardians Angel take a decisive step towards securing a play-off spot following an excellent 4-1 defeat of fellow top-three chasers, Saints Peter and Paul. A clinical Angels side were right on song and they now require just three points from their final two games - next week at Timberley - to guarantee a play-off berth in May.
SSPP then had to pick themselves up for a tricky looking game with Highfield. However, SSPP found their shooting boots to record a 5-0 win. It was, however, slightly flattering as in a highly entertaining encounter, Highfield missed a number of chances and came up against an inspired SSPP 'keeper.
Guardian Angels sit three points behind leaders, Mapledene with both having played six matches. SSPP though lie just two points further back in third with Timberley, in fourth on ten points also in with a chance of a top three finish.
All will be revealed after next Thursday's fixtures which include Mapledene vs SSPP and Timberley vs Guardian Angels - mouth-watering indeed!
