Thursday afternoon saw the opening games in the Premier Division and the champions, St Thomas More's showed why they will once again be among the front-runners for the title and why they won't easily relinquish their crown. At Holly Lane, Tommy More's dispatched both Abbey and Court Farm with aplomb, hitting both for seven in impressive displays. The other game at the Lane, Abbey and Court Farm played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Across at Lea Forest, Highfield were also making a notable opening to their campaign with 5-0 and 3-0 wins against Elms Farm and Lea Forest respectively. In the afternoon's other game at Ridpool Road. Lea Forest defeated Elms Farm, 3-2.
