Barnie’s Bounce as Stone Stagnate!

By Joe Perkins

Barnie’s boost play-off hopes; Hillstone held twice.

Tuesday evening saw the first ESPSFA League games of 2025 with fixtures between St Barnabas, St Bernadette's and Hillstone and it was the former who left happiest at a cold and dank Castle Vale Stadium.

Hillstone went into the games knowing two wins would catapult them up to third in the table but they were to be frustrated by St Barnabas, 0-0 and St Bernadette's, 2-2. St Barnabas however, came away smiling as the final game of the night saw the Spring Lane side, glide past a tiring St Bernadette's, 8-0.

Barnie's four points moves them up to sixth on eight points, the same amount as Hillstone who sit just ahead of them virtue of a three-goal better goal difference.
