Guardian Angels 2 - 1 Short Heath

Guardian Angels made it through to the ESPSFA play-off finals after a narrow 2-1 victory over Short Heath. There was little to choose between the two teams in a tight game in which chances were at a premium. Short Heath took their first chance though, a smart volleyed finish after a good passing move. Angels equalised shortly after when their striker went through on goal following a free-kick which made it's way to him and just a couple of minutes later, they were ahead. A fortunate bounce of the ball fell kindly for the same Angels attacker who bulldozed his way through a couple of challenges before honing in on goal once again. Heath had a chance to level right on half-time but their striker's volley landed the wrong side of the post.
The second half was equally as tight and become ever more tense as time ticked away, neither side though could fashion any clear cut chances and were restricted mainly to efforts from range. The Angels managed to see the game out though and denied Short Heath another finals day outing.
