5-Goal Foresters Leap to Top!

By Joe Perkins

Lea Forest lead the way after week of frenzied action.

Lea Forest put local neighbours The Oval to the sword on Wednesday afternoon. The Foresters netted 5 times without reply and hoisted the Ridpool Roaders to the summit, ahead of The Rosary on goal difference.
St Bernadette's remain in third place but will be disappointed with their return this week after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Heathlands. They were also left to settle for a point against a battling Highfield side, who held them
2-a-piece. Highfield repeated that scoreline against the hosts, Hobmoor, who themselves defeated Heathlands in a thriller, 4-3.
Meanwhile league debutants Parkfield stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead only to see home side Colebourne claw it back to 3 each, rescuing a point. Parkfield however did take maximum points with a comfortable 2-0 win over Alston. In the remaing game at Colebourne on Wednesday, The Coles and Alston drew 1-1, with Alston rueing a first-half penalty miss.
