LG Favourites for Title in Hobmoor Showdown. Greens take on Forest; Bernies tackle Rosary.
Hobmoor Academy will host the ESPSFA play-offs on Tuesday afternoon as the winners and runners-up from both Baxi and Corporate Clothing leagues battle it out for the overall ESPSFA League Championship.
Lyndon Green will kick-off as favourites after an unbeaten Baxi campaign. The Wensley Road outfit plundered 49 goals in 9 league games and only conceded 3 in return. The Greens will face Corporate Clothing runners-up, Lea Forest. Forest have a mean defence and going forward they hurt sides on the counter-attack. Lyndon will no doubt guard against that but The Foresters are capable of an upset.
Baxi runners-up Rosary also went unbeaten in their campaign and face Corporate champs St Bernadette's in the other semi final. Rosary base their side on a tight defence and hard-working midfield, and can be tough to break down. However, Bernies averaged 4 goals per game in winning their divisional title, and went unbeaten in their 8 regular season games, so will fear no-one.
It should be a fascinating evening's football and, at the end of it, maybe a new name will be inscribed on the ESPSFA League Champions trophy.
