Oval Hit The Top!

Oval reach summit as Highfield and Brownmead close in. Harper Bell impress on debut.

Courtesy of a hard-fought 3-2 win over Thornton on Thursday, Kitts Green outfit The Oval, now lead the fit4schools Premier division by three points from Highfield, who head the chasing pack. Despite Mr Jay's Alum Rockers suffering a 2-1 reverse to new boys, Harper Bell, a same score-line victory over a luck-less Audley side - who missed several chances and a penalty - took Highfield into second place.
Hot on their heels though are Brownmead and they have 3 games in hand on Highfield and 2 on The Oval. The Shard End side beat a valiant Paget 2-0 at Pencroft Road, and as Slade did not turn up, 'Mead were awarded a 4-0 win; Paget were also granted a walkover for the same reason.
To cap a miserable evening for Audley, the Glebe-side club were soundly beaten by league debutants, Harper Bell, 3-0. Two wins out of two for the Camp Hill team who may well be a dark horse in the title race.
