Bell Girls Secure Play-offs Spot!

Bell top table after 6-point haul. Short Heath still in divisional title hunt.

Power League on Wednesday evening saw the latest round of matches in the Fit4Schools Girls League Group A and leaders Harper Bell cemented a play-offs berth after they concluded their regular season games with back-to-back wins.
In a tight and taut opening game, Bell saw off a dogged E-ACT Nechells side, 3-1, before putting Hillstone to the sword, 6-2. The wins keep Bell in pole position on 25 points, 6 ahead of Short Heath.
With three games still to play, Heath can yet overhaul Bell at the summit and take the divisional title themselves. The Erdington-based side were helped by 4-0 walkover wins (vs Colebourne and Alston) and an entertaining and highly competitive 4-2 win over Rosary.
The other two top four play-off places will be contested between Hillstone - currently lying third after a 2-1 victory over Erdington Hall - Rosary, Blakenhale and Erdington Hall.
Rosary defeated Hillstone 5-0 to go within a point of ‘stone but have a game in hand, whilst Blakenhale lie a further point behind Rosary; these two will meet next time out.
For their part, Erdington Hall will have to win both of their final games and hope results elsewhere go their way if they are to grab a coveted top four spot.
All to play for then when Group A meets for a final time at Power League, Yardley, on Wednesday, March 7th.
