St Bernadette's laid down a statement of intent by thumping in 17 unanswered goals at Spring Lane last night. Bernies beat league newcomers, Erdington Hall 10-0, before dispatching Alston 7-0. In the day's other game there, Alston beat Erdington Hall 3-1.
Lea Forest also opened their campaign with a win. They defeated a much-fancied Audley side 2-0 at Hurstcroft Rd.
